INO (Sex-Linked)

INO Recessive to wild-type, Co-dominant with cinnamon

Called albino in white-based birds and lutino in yellow-based birds. It's sex-linked, meaning this gene is carried on the Z chromosome. Albinos are all white with red eyes while Lutinos are all yellow with red eyes. Female inos only have one allele for it, since they only have one Z chromosome (and one W), while male inos must have two alleles for it in order to show it. Ino masks other mutations the only mutations not masked by ino are cinnamon (creating the lacewing variety) and yellow/golden-face (creating the Creamino variety). The male's care will stay a pinkish-purplish.
